Mermaid Aquina has always felt different from the other merfolk on Rulantica. Shortly after her twelfth birthday, she learns the incredible truth: she has a twin brother—Mats, a human boy! And he is in great danger. There’s no stopping Aquina now; she must find her true family before it’s too late. Their reunion fulfills an ancient prophecy of the Nordic gods—and this could mean salvation or doom for the entire island world of Rulantica...

A real family and a home in the Ice City beneath the sea—Mats should really be happy. But no one here truly understands him, not even his twin sister Aquina. Right now, she is focused entirely on her training as a Source Guardian and practicing ice magic, rather than caring for her brother. Yet while the two are arguing, a far greater danger is brewing above them: the gods awaken the sea serpent Bölvun. Suddenly, everything is at stake. Mats and Finja have little time left to save themselves and to protect Rulantica from destruction…

Peace at last! Since Mats and Finja saved Rulantica from destruction, they have been celebrated as heroes. Mats is no longer an outsider and has even made friends. Everything could be so wonderful... But when Loki’s horn mysteriously appears frozen inside a block of ice, Mats and Finja realize that the only way to avert the threat to Rulantica is to shut off the source of eternal life. To do this, they must journey into the heart of the volcano — which can erupt at any moment and holds many other dangers. Will Mats and Finja succeed in ending the curse over Rulantica once and for all?

Rulantica – The Musical takes you to a mysterious island where good battles evil and legends come to life. In collaboration with Europa-Park, MACK Magic created this musical, which is deeply rooted in the story world of Rulantica. The musical was performed live at Europa-Park in 2018 and 2019.
